BACKGROUND

Did you know in December 2020 a new law was passed making it mandatory for all buildings greater than 1000m2 in the public sector and 2000m2 in the private sector to acquire an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)?

Over 100 000 buildings in South Africa require an EPC assessment to be done by the 8th December 2022. Their EPC must be displayed at the entrance of the building and preferably targeting at least a D rating.
